    GA-EP45-UD3P Issues with RAID Controller:

I have the board set up like this...

    Purple SATA Ports
    RAID1: 500GB (OS)
    [Sata_0 : 500GB WD]
    [Sata_1 : 500GB WD]

    Yellow SATA Ports
    Sata_0 : Anything

    RAID5: 3.7TB (Storage)
    [Sata_1 : 1000GB WD]
    [Sata_2 : 1000GB WD]
    [Sata_3 : 1000GB WD]
    [Sata_4 : 1000GB WD]
    [Sata_5 : 1000GB WD]

Now here is the issue.... Whenever I put a drive in Sata_0 on the Yellow ports the board freezes. It will post all the way to the where it starts checking what device to boot off of (Cd-rom, hard drive) and freezes. When I take the drive out its fine.

    More details needed:
    Motherboard version?
    Operating system version?
    Bios Version?
Raid array setups? How many & and using which sata/gsata ports?
Which sata port(s) are used for your operating system?
What are the boot order setting in your bios?

FYI, to avoid confusion, the purple ports are referred to as GSata_0 and GSata_1.

Re: GA-EP45-UD3P Issues with RAID Controller

The hard drive had a problem with the partition table. I del the partition and reformated it and it worked fine.
