  • GA-MA770T-UD3P (1.1) ACC wont stay on

Hey, I just put together a budget build of a MA770T-UD3P Rev 1.1 with a Phenom II X2 550:BE, and I'm trying to unlock the cores (of course).

I set the BIOS to have EC on Hybrid, no problem, turn off Cool & Quiet, set the multiplier to 15.5 (3100mhz normal), boost the Vcore by .05 or .075, all these settings stay.

But when I try to enable ACC to AUTO or to All Cores, it won't stick! It POSTs just fine, but when I go back into BIOS ACC is disabled!

I'm running the F5 bios. Also same results with the F6a (beta) BIOS. I don't think I can use F2c bios because I'm on rev 1.1 but I could be wrong.

    Anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

usually means it does not like your settings - have everything on auto and see what's up.
This bios seem to auto disable cores when something is wrong (maybe cores unfit).

What do you mean "have everything on auto and see what's up?" Is there any way to test for unfit cores? Or to try disabling one of the cores to run 3 cores instead of 4?

Re: GA-MA770T-UD3P (1.1) ACC wont stay on

You can do a 'Load Optimized' on the first bios screen as that is doing the same. Do not touch any setting that is on AUTO - leave it as is!

Done that, enable Hybrid in ACC, save, reboot - see if the problem goes away..test a few days! If the problem persists you likely have one or more unfit cores. Try disabling 3/4 one by one

How do I go about only enabling 3 cores instead of all four??

It's right in the ACC if you have F6A bios installed - option to disable cores

You must be able to start up with the cores enabled to disable a core. When I go into the ACC menu, it does not give me the option to disable anything. I'm just going to guess I've got bad cores. Unless anyone has any more suggestions?

                okay, again,
when you set ACC on hybrid and Auto ...save..reboot your processor type detection should instantly change on the following boot screen (my 550 X2 changed into a 945 X4)

means the cores are on...if that is not..you can't do that. I have the older board rev1.0
                ..maybe that's your problem?

Does the bios reset when other items are changed?
                  10) BAT (BATTERY)
The battery provides power to keep the values (such as BIOS configurations, date, and time
information) in the CMOS when the computer is turned off. Replace the battery when the battery
voltage drops to a low level, or the CMOS values may not be accurate or may be lost.
                  • Always turn off your computer and unplug the power cord before replacing the battery.
                  • Replace the battery with an equivalent one. Danger of explosion if the battery is replaced
                  with an incorrect model.
                  • Contact the place of purchase or local dealer if you are not able to replace the battery by
yourself or uncertain about the battery model.
                  • When installing the battery, note the orientation of the positive side (+) and the negative
side (-) of the battery (the positive side should face up).

No, I can set ACC to Hybrid, that will stay on. Any other changes I make also stay. I simply can't set ACC to Auto, All Cores, or Per Core. It automatically is disabled.

                    Any ideas?

okay, mate, then you are pretty much out of luck - buying a "real" X4 CPU is your only chance then.

Did you also "Load Optimized Defaults" after you flashed the BIOS? I know it`s a basic question but worth asking. If you did maybe what you need to do is clear CMOS, then on reboot "Load Optimized Defaults". I have rev. 1.1 but still F5 BIOS so can`t say I`ve tried it, just a suggestion. My 550BE unlocked with no problems.

Yeah, I've tried Loading Optimized Defaults after flashing. The computer boots just fine with Optimized Defaults, but when I try to turn ACC on I get the same problem. ACC auto disables. The only thing I can think of is if there is a way to enable one core at a time?

                            Thanks
