Make sure On-Chip USB is set to V1.1+V2.0 in BIOS Integrated Peripherals.

            Re: GA-M61SME-S2 usb port issue

            Hello there!

I was having the exact same issue with the exact same motherboard! I went through everything possible, such as installing new drivers, reading the manual, changing BIOS settings, etc, and I still couldn't get it to work.

THEN, I found the solution. It was SO SIMPLE!

Just open up your Device Manager (Right-Click My Computer -> Properties -> Hardware -> Device Manager), and simply Uninstall all USB devices (root hubs, etc.). When you've uninstalled all USB devices/drivers, restart your Windows.

When it boots up, it will re-detect and re-install your USB drivers, and they will work on USB 2.0.

Hope this works for you. It just worked out for me.

            Cheers!
