  • Memory setup problem GA X58A-UD7 & GEIL Ultra PC3 17600 2200 MHz

    Hi,

    I have i7-930, GA X58A-UD7 with 6 GB GEIL Ultra PC3 17600 2200MHz CL-9-10-9-28

With enabled Extreme Memory Profile X.M.P. /Profile1/ motherboard won't boot and there is C1 post error.

My question is how to setup BIOS manually so that memory works at specified speed w/o overclocking CPU?

    Thanks

you could clock your cpu to 3.8ghz then use 2160mhz ram speed with 12x ram multiplier and 21x180 for cpu,set cpu vcore to 1.25v to start with and qpi/vtt to 1.35v,set dram voltage to spec either 1.5 or 1.66v in the bios, take a look at my oc template and put your own ram timings in and put in those voltages i gave you above, you will need more with 2200mhz ram speed

2000+ will take at least 1.5 QPI/Vtt, not something you should use for daily use, so above 2000 will take even more.

Your best bet will be using 1866-2000 with tighter timings
