Need help with EP45T-USB3P + Q9550 + Patriot PGS341600ELK

Hello There,

My old mobo crapped out on me so i just bought a EP45T-USB3P to replace it. Guess the mobo is fairly new so it doesn't look like many people have it...

Well i have a couple of issues which i need some help with. I don't OC or anything and am not really familiar this stuff so please bear with me.

1) When i look at the core speeds in CPU-Z it is at 2 GHz with a multiplier of 6.0. Occasionally it jumps up to 2.83 ghz and muliplier of 8.5, but always goes back to 2 GHz. Is there something thats not set correctly in the BIOS?

2) I am using Patriot G-Series DDR3 1600MHZ RAM. I've set the DRAM voltage and timing according to the recommended settings, but DRAM frequency is only 1333 as opposed to 1600.

Any help would be appreciated

With C1E and EIST enabled the CPU throttle down when not under load to save power.
With max multiplier 4(2 actually) the maximum ram speed you can get with default 333MHz FSB is DDR-1333, to run DDR-1600 you will need 400MHz FSB

Yes you will have to run at least 400 FSB to reach ram speeds of 1600Mhz.
