  • Vcore Voltage Readings

    Hi, I have set my vcore to 1.35+ in the bios, after vdroop, cpu-z shows 1.328, everest shows 1.33 but in PC HEALTH STATUS in the bios, the vcore shows 1.34.

    I dont want to push my e8400 higher than 1.365 so I was wondering if the bios voltage readings were more accurate and if I should rely on them ?

    All sound correct. Is that with LLC enabled? Depending on your cooling your chip should handle up to 1.425v with out issue.

      What you need to look at is Vdrop and Vdroop, Vdrop is amount set in BIOS vs what you get in windows at idle, and then vdroop is what you get under load vs idle.

      This is why you may be seeing varied amounts.

      By the way, the Intel rated max safe Vcore for E8400 is 1.45V Per the spec PDF, page 17


      The 1.365 you are probably concerned with is VID, which is the highest voltage a CPU will leave the factory rated at for stock specifications, not what is the max safe amount to use and of course you need good cooling for higher voltages.
