    ep45-ud3r QFlash problems.

    So I am trying to flash my bios to the newest version to see if it will fix some problems I've been having as of late, but when I go into the Qflash utility, it will not recognize my USB drive. This might stem from some of the problems I've been having with my mobo though. Only 2 of my USB ports will show up as 2.0 and the rest will only show up as 1.1. For instance, my usb wireless network adapter will only work on my front ports and not the rear USB ports. Another issue is that my burners will not burn anything, but work fine on other computers. I am currently at bios version F5. I have some other issues as well, but I want to try and update the Bios to see if it corrects them. Can someone please help me figure out how to get my USB drive to show up?

    - edit: it should be noted that the USB drive shows up and works fine in windows.

    shortest answer is :
    Make sure legacy devices are enabled in bios.

    Could be something else too tho

        USB drive must be formated FAT32, and may show as HDD0-0 or USB0-0.

          makesure usb 1.0 and usb 2.0 are enabled in the bios aswell,some front panel usb slots will be usb 1.0 only due to them plugging into the mb,rear ones are usually usb 2.0

            It's formatted as FAT32, but doesn't show up in any form in the list of place to look for the bios file. Only the floppy drive shows up. I can take a screen cap if you need, but it just doesn't show up in any form.

              did you make it bootable with hp software in flashing guide??

                I did not, was trying to just use the Qflash utility (which I don't believe requires the USB drive to be bootable). I thought that you only needed to make it bootable if you were using the DOS method.

                  sometimes you have to,sometimes not,i would try making it bootable and see if it sees it

                    So make it bootable and then restart and go into the Qflash utility as before?

                        Making it bootable definitely worked. I have flashed the bios to the latest version (F12) and will spend some time trying to see if it solved my USB issues and the other issues I've been having. Just a quick question...would turning off the USB 1.0 controller force all of the USB ports to be 2.0 at all times? And if that works, would it cause issues with non USB 2.0 devices?
