Seeking Explanation In Regards To 8 pin 12 Volt Connector On GA-MA790X-UD4P

Hi there guys, please don't be to hard on me, this is my first visit here.
I have just purchased this GA-MA790X-UD4P board and I would like to get some confirmation on whether I can use my existing PSU: OCZ 500W it is only 6 month old but has not the 2 X 4 pin nor a 8 pin 12V power only 1 X 24 pin and 1 X 4 pin.
I have presently a 4 pin molex to 4 pin square adapter on order.
The CPU that I will be using is a AMD Athlon II X 2 240 2.8GHz and one single Video card plus 4 Gig G.Skill Ram. Nothing heavy.
Can I run this board with this setup without doing damage to the board.
Your advice would be greatly appreciated.

it should work fine,but if your planning on overclocking then you need a 8pin cpu power plug,i ran my set up with just a 4pin so i know it works and it was fine and stable but i didnt overclock,the plug will only plug in one way leaving four open holes
