      Re: Help

GIGABYTE - Motherboard - Socket 775 - GA-P43-ES3G (rev. 1.4) is a link to the GA-P43-ES3G (rev. 1.4) web page. You can check the features, specifications, cpu support and download the mobo user manual for additional detailed information.

Clicking on the "CPU Support" tab shows that the Pentium D925 is supported.

You can use the search feature in the upper right portion of the page to get similar information for other motherboard models.

Hopefully your current power supply will work with one of the newer motherboards.

        Re: Help

Since your gx card is probably worth more than the rest of your components combined and you can tune the gx card with software:

You are probably looking for a basic mbrd like $50 or less.
GA-G31 seems to be about the most inexpensive gigabyte board still being sold that would cover all your needs.
Anything more expensive and you might have to weigh the advantages of say buying another stick of value mem against the extra cost.
If you are getting a good deal on the boards u mentioned,it doesnt really matter.

Why do you need a new mbrd btw?

If its just because you have a manufactured system such as dell or packard bell and cant adjust the bios, its not really worth spending $ on tweaking components that old.
The gx card you can tune as long as you have a reasonable power supply.

The reason I ask is I have a backup system
        D820
        160gb hdd
        1.5G ram
        9600gt graphics
which was originally from a packard bell system 4 years ago.

If I still had it installed on the packard bell mbrd(which was actually a locked bios gigabyte one) Im sure it would be working fine.

Its on a gigabyte ga 73pvms2 board now ,which would actually work for you also if you could find one .

          Re: Help

IMO, if you can find a bargain on ebay, than do so. Check on the manufacturer's web site to see if your CPU is supported on that board, and if possible check that the BIOS the board will be supplied with has CPU support too. If I remember correctly, P4 socket 775 support wasn't included in a lot of P45 BIOS's initially and was added at either the second or third release.
