  • GA-X58a-UD3R and Eyefinity problem

I'm in the process of building a new system. I got Windows 7 and running with all 3 monitors on the first try. At some point I got the bright idea to flash the bios to the newest version. Now, I can no longer boot with my primary monitor plugged in via the DisplayPort connection. I get one long beep and two short telling me I have a video card or monitor error. As soon as I unplug it I can boot up fine. Anyone else seen anything like this or have any suggestions for me?

tried with one monitor on the vga or dvi port? maybe you need to set something in the bios as flashing will reset it

It will boot with either or both monitors on the DVI port, but not with a monitor plugged in to the DisplayPort er, port.

I messed around in bios and didn't see anything that might be causing this behavior.

I do have a new 6970 on the way, but I don't think it is a card issue as it worked fine right up until the bios upgrade :/

I am using the latest drivers, but I can't imagine they would keep me from being able to post. I may just try downgrading the bios.

yh you can always flash back to a working bios if you run into problems with a newer one,try booting up so you can see the screen and go in ccc and try clicking on detect displays and setup up displays ect,you might need to re-do it after driver update,if no joy then it could be a bios issue, set initial first display to whatever pci-e slot your gpu is plugged into, either pcie-#1 or #2 ect in the bios
