  • Asrock A790GXH/128M RAID bios hangs!

    Hey,

Just got my A790GXH/128M and tried to do a clean install of Windows 7 on it as follows.

    Connected 2X Kingston 64GB SSD-drives to sata ports 1 and 2, created then a raid 0 array.
Now all I get is a message from raid bios Detecting drives, founds my raid 0 array of 125GB and says it's functional.

And that's it, it hangs up at that point I can't access boot menu (f11) or bios (f2/del).
Upgraded the BIOS from 1.60 to 1.70 (Although only new CPU codes).

How could I get past this and actually start to install operating system?

Do I need newer/older AMD raid bios? How can I even upgarde it?

    Got it up eventually.

Booted to old windows 7 and it fixed itself, I made a dynamic disk out of the SSD drives then went to RAID setup and could remake the array. Tried to install Windows 7 to it but the driver didn't found that array (dynamic disks aren't OS installable). Well, back to old windows 7 and I deleted the dynamic disk. Then to raid utility, recreate the array and this time the array was there to install to. In there somewhere between was also fiddling with fast init on/off when making arrays (deleting or not MBR).

Only thing now is that I can't dual boot to the old windows without disconnecting the array disks and setting sata mode to IDE. Well, I'm going to get rid of it anyway as I only need to move data to folders I have access from the new windows.
