Re: P43DE3 only boots with one stick of adata 1600G ram. New build, xp prof.

some info from the motherboard manual. as follows:

    - Compatible with all FSB1600/1333/1066/800MHz CPUs
    (see
    CAUTION 1)

    Memory
    - Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Technology (see CAUTION 4)
    - 4 x DDR3 DIMM slots
    - Support DDR3 1600/1333/1066/800 non-ECC, un-buffered
    memory (see
    CAUTION 5)
    - Max. capacity of system memory: 16GB (see
    CAUTION 6)

    - Supports Intel
    Extreme Memory Profile (XMP

FSB1600-CPU will operate in overclocking mode.
CPU FSB Frequency Memory Support Frequency
    1600 DDR3 800, DDR3 1066, DDR3 1333,
    DDR3 1600

AND I FIND this statement odd:
    5. If you adopt a DDR3 1600 memory module, you can only install it on
    DDR3_A1 slot.

NOW THE WEIRD THINGS IS: it only BOOTS with one dram in the B2 slot.

WHAT the heck "if you adopt......" thats all it says, not alot of explaining.

I think there is a way to set the bios, but there is alot of settings in there that I normally don't mess with.
30 years in IT....computers are still killin' me.

i would appreciate some insight. Been reading for 3 hours about memory and cpu timing...not sure any of it sank in.

P55 Pro will not run more than one stick of 4 Gig DDR3 Ram

I am running the ASRock P55 Pro board with 1 stick of G-Skills 4 Gig Ram. When I try putting a second stick in, the computer power cycles. And if by chance it does boot windows, it will blue screen if I sneeze. Running only one stick is stable.

Help me, as my performance is killing me and I really need the full 16Gigs in the machine. My I.T. guy wants me to buy a Gigabyte board, but I want to give ASRock a chance, as they seem to be a better value all around (If they work).

My Motherboard: ASRock P55 Pro LGA 1156 Intel P55 ATX Intel Motherboard

      My Memory: G.SKILL Ripjaws Series 4GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10666) Desktop Memory Model F3-10666CL9S-4GBRL

      Running Windows7

      Thanks,

Since there was almost zero help on this on the internet. I returned the motherboard and memory. Then ordered a gigabyte MB and mem....
        Horrible user manual:
asrock MB would only boot with i dram in b2 slot...does not say that anywhere.
They need instructions on how to configure for different memory speeds.
