Ok so initially when I bought this board a couple of years ago, I got some g.skill ddr2 1000 2x2gb ram to go with it. I had some weird memory problems with that ram and this board that I attributed it to incompatibility.

I set the 2x2gb ram kit aside and got some kingston ddr2 1066 2x1gb ram for $32 with the intent of getting 4gb or more sometime later. This new ram ran without a hiccup.

Gigabyte latest bios release says it enhances memory compatibility, so I flashed my mobo and tried my old 2x2gb set again.

Unfortunately, I can only get one stick working at a time (I used to be able to get both sticks installed). If I try to boot with both sticks installed, the computer will not post. I tried it in the yellow slots and the red slots. I've tried increasing mch core up to 1.3v and also reducing the speed to 800mhz 5-5-5-15.

Here are my settings with 2x1gb ram (template from lsdmeasap):

They don't work at all when both sticks installed even at default settings?
Have you ran memtest86+ on them seperatly, each in it's target slot?

I have 2GB(2x1G) PI set here which I have yet to test with this board, but I had issues with them on my EP43 board.
The kit in my signature is listed as compatible with your boared since BIOS ver. F12.

Yes, exactly, even at 800 mhz 5-5-5-15 @ 2.1v (not 1.8v) both sticks installed at the same time didn't post.

I didn't run memtest on each stick individually, because I was feeling a little lazy (moreover rather because both seemed to run fine in my friend's mobo when I let him borrow them).

Ye, I checked the link, and its good to see ur mem is indeed tested compatible with our mobo. However I checked the closest thing I could find to my memory and the UD3R is not listed for this model: G.SKILL-Products

I'd go ahead and test each one one at a time with memtest86+, at least one pass on each to be sure they are at least both still working. Since you friend borrowed them you never know, maybe he overvolted them and isn't mentioning that, or maybe his board accidentally damaged one of them, ya never know so best to test.

Then with a single stick installed, set both channels tRD (Static tRead value) to 9 for now, then set Performance Enhance on Standard, and set MCH 1.2-1.24. Then save/apply/reboot and let windows load, then shut down and install the second module and see if it will start or not.

It was just an example, and I thought maybe you will want to buy a new set and sell this one.
