  • Ga-P55a-UD3 Fan control questions

Hi. I have a ga-p55a-ud3. I have one of my 3 pin case fans connected to the mobo and the mobo recognizes the fan in ET6. However, I can't control that fan. Is there anyway for me to have software control of that fan?

What fan header is your fan connected to the motherboard.

CPU fan and Sys-Fan2 are the only ones you can control manually on this board, and Sys_Fan2 will be half speed by default

I have it plugged into sys fan 2 and the rpm is shown. however, i don't see anyway to control the fan speed

I believe you need have ET6 installed to control it or speedfan maybe.

            Re: Ga-P55a-UD3 Fan control questions

I don't think Sys-Fan2 can be controlled, even though it appears that it can, plus it is half speed/voltage anyway so I think you should use another header instead and either not control it or get a fan controller.

              Re: Ga-P55a-UD3 Fan control questions

I've recently built a couple systems using this board (got them brand new, EOL, extremely cheap). All fan headers are capable of a full 12V output. Sys_Fan_2 has 4 pins, however, the PWM control pin is actually a dummy, marked as "reserved" in the manual. For reference, the page in the paper manual is P23.

I can't confirm whether the header is controlable via voltage using something like SpeedFan, I used the header inconjunction with an inline resistor to get a 9V output.
