warning:main bios checksum error

Hi i have a GA-EG31M-S2 mother bored

i was playing on my pc and it froze when i restarted it i went past post,the cpu info comes up on the screen it shows how much ram i have then it says
WARNING:MAIN BIOS CHECKSUM ERROR!

then it says
bios auto-recovering................

then it restarts and trys to boot again nut the same error comes up and it stuck in a loop

i cant get into the bios to flash a new one you can hit the Del key all day long it just does not go into the setup. I have taken the battery out and cleared the cmos with the jumper i have tried a new battery i left the battery out for 24h still nothing


plz help me do i need a new bored

yes it does the exact same thing every time

Try to boot with only one stick of memory, try another stick if it still fail.
What is the ram part#/model, and how much is it?

I have tried that all ready.My pc has been running like this for 3 years and then one day it just does this i have 4gigs 2X2gig transcend ddr2

The first 4 digits of the serial number represents manufacturing year and week YYWW, the board has 3 years warranty since manufacturing date, see if it still under warranty.

Hi sorry for late reply jut got back to work and for some strange reson i cant reply off my blackberry.

there is a sticker next to the ram lots with a bar code on it with numbers and letters under it the numbers are BG9006 01831

Could be serial but not the format I know (SNxxxx).
Try to contact BG support and see if the can help you.

ok cool i found my box and the sn number is on there gave it to my pc guy and he is going to sort it out

sn number is sn084740019935

47th week of 2008, still under warranty.
If he can't sort it contact GB support.

ok so my board ha gone to gigabyte here in southafrica i should know in a week what i going on .

I want to know if they replace it what will they replace it with .My old boared supported a FSB of 1600 when overclocking .

what other boards in that price range support o FSB of 1600 too?

They will give you the same board back if they can fix it, or a replacement that is the same model or it's equivalent.
