Re: Need help to overclock my e7600+ep45-ud3l

Are you using Core Temp/RealTemp to monitor temperatures or is it CPU temperatures?
Could be that 3.45GHz is the max it can do with normal vcore, try to enable LLC(Load Line Calibration).
Set VTT(CPU Termination) and CPU PLL to the default shown in BIOS.
Manually set MCH Core 1.16v and DRAM Volatge 1.9v.
If you can post MemSet main and SPD(click spd) window screen capture.

Please fill your signature with your system settings, including a link to ram specs.

Do you have MCH/DRAM Refernce and Channel A/B Ref in BIOS?
What is the BIOS version and board revision?
You will have much better memory performance with 400+ FSB

Re: Need help to overclock my e7600+ep45-ud3l

thank you i will try later, but i have some questions]

1] why set 1.9v to memory ? more volts give more power? since the memory will work at 800mhz wich default is 1.8v

2] can i leave CIE enable to rest cpu in idle ?

3] so the limit will be 3.45ghz ?

4] With your config at 3.4ghz, will be better than mine at 3.45ghz ?

              thanks

Re: Need help to overclock my e7600+ep45-ud3l

You can try and leave memory at 1.8v.
1.9v is within standard limits, and we are going to put much more stress on the memory so it may need it.
                Download to compare memory performance.

It is advised to OC with C1E and EIST disabled at first, then you may try to enable them, as they may cause instability with a higher minimum frequency.

The limit is definately not 3.45GHz, but it may be the limit for normal vcore(which is the only way you can use C1E and EIST realy).

With 400MHz memory will perform much betterm as I wrote you can try to increase to 406MHz as we know the CPU is capable to do 3.45GHz with normal vcore.

I am still not clear about your temps, can you run Core Temp or RealTemp and post the temps you get there and under what load you get them.

i tried your config and dont work (dont boot), i already expected this, because the problem seems to be with memory Multipler and Frequency, i think those memory dont accept decrease by Multipler and the limit will be 900mhz or 905, in 915mhz will be BSOD,

Re: Need help to overclock my e7600+ep45-ud3l

i think the problem is the minimum multiplier of the board on this cpu (266-1066) is 2.5-3.3-4.0, so the 400x2,5=1000mhz for the memory wich the safety limit i think is 900mhz, so the max i can use is 360 on cpu host frequency and i could try x10 to result 3.6ghz

                        what do you think ?

                          multipliers are
                          C(200MHz) 2.66, 3.33 4.00
                          A(266MHz) 2.5, 3.00, 4.00
                          B(333MHz) 2.00, 2.4, 3.2 (4.00 for DDR3 boards)
                          D(400MHz) 2.00, 2.66 (3.33, 4.00 for DDR3 boards)

I was aware of the memory limitation and listed 2.00D and 2.00B as an alternative.
MCH Frequency Latch should be left auto.

BTW I have looked at the CPU support list, and min BIOS for the E7600 is F5c(beta BIOS).
You may want to upgrade to the latest F9 BIOS.
Use BIOS built-in Q-Flash to update BIOS.
Do not use OC settings when flashing, use optimized defaults with Performance enhance standard and XMP disabled(if present).

can we choose any multipliers ? i though that only works with A(266MHZ) witch is my stock 266-1066, now when i leave multiplier on auto is 2,3 that appears on cpu-z

You may want to upgrade to the latest F9 BIOS.
Use BIOS built-in Q-Flash to update BIOS.
Do not use OC settings when flashing, use optimized defaults with Performance enhance standard and XMP disabled(if present).
the update will give more performance?
