Hypothetical question

G'day all
If one had the XP Operating system installed with the infamous FCK serial number and wanted to format would the following be the correct procedure.
Dis-connect [Optus - cable] modem.
Format as usual [not recieving updates during installation]
Change the CD key using a well publised method.
Connect Modem.
Visit Windows update and install all relevent updates, SP1 included?
Hypothetically, How would I fare.

I was under the impression that with the new CD key, SP1 would install OK????? keeping in mind the Cd key was changed After the format??

Oops, I didn't see that u said u would change your key, then it is all hunky dory!!

But arn't all the updates included in SP1, available in their individual downloads anyway??

1. Get the key generator ("XP Key Recoverer and Discoverer 5.12")
2. Generate a new key
3. Reformat and reinstall Windows using the new key
4. Download and install SP-1
5. Rock On
