  • Phenom X6 1090T core temps?

    Hi,
I have here a GA-MA770T-UD3P (rev 1.0 / latest bios) and can't read X6 core temperatures - tried speedfan and other monitors.

Anyone here got a tip how to get it going?

Did you try the latest version of Hwmonitor or Realtemp, how about AIDA64 latest version?

You can get those all here

I tried Hwmonitor and Aida64 which does not display any CPU temperatures

edit: after disabling CPU-unlock (bios) and checking again:

      HWmonitor all cores are reported
speedfan core temp reported but not each core
      Aida still displays nothing.

Sorry, I wasn't aware that Realtemp was Intel only, guess I just never paid attention to that since I'm an Intel user.

So you'll have to stick with HWmonitor for now, until an AMD user can maybe specify something better for you to use.

Yep, Realtemp is Intel only, Core series upwards (no Pentium 4).

A good alternative would be Coretemp. I use this over RealTemp as I've been using it for years and find it fits my needs perfectly. Realtemp does have some more advanced features, but when working with both Intel and AMD CPU's, Coretemp is neat.

Re: Phenom X6 1090T core temps?

Coretemp itself does not show core temps - just CPU temp

however in combination with gadget All CPU Meter core temps display fine

Maybe email the author and ask about how soon he'll be putting out an update, you can also ask here
"Core Temp" - CPU Temerature monitoring tool

And here I see he says it will be fixed in the next release

I also see here AMD mentioned Overdrive will properly show temps, but that might just be CPU temp not core?

                        Thanks for all the information

Core temperature is now displaying fine in general - the important point is CPU-unlock in sys bios must be disabled to make it work.

What does disabling that CPU-Unlock do, stop you from overclocking? Hopefully he'll fix it and release the next update soon.

You could also make a thread, if there isn't one already, over at the AIDA64 forums and I'm sure Firey would get it updated for you in the next round of updates.

                            I am no expert..

..but think CPU-unlock is part of ACC - the X6 sys bios is somewhat different compared to the X4 sys bios. Once enabled you can control the cores separately .. disable/enable/whatever else. Since ACC is known to corrupt temp readings for X4s it looks like it's the same for X6 CPUs

I am not overclocking - it was enabled by accident ... I could not guess the impact of this setting

Ya, it probably is then. Well, if you don't use it then it wont matter really, disable it if you need to check temps often.
