  • Ga-p67a-ud7-b3: Raid10 & efi & gpt & boot

    Hi,

I want to boot/install Windows 7 64bit (fresh install with DVDROM) on a RAID10 (Intel RST) of 4x2TB HDD Samsung (so, 4TB usable) with GPT partition.
Can anyone (Gigabyte technicians?) provide me a step-by-step procedure?
Because I am unable to find any information (manual or google/internet) about Hybrid EFI usage. We just have the option in BIOS.

    My hardware setup:
-4xHDD on SATA 3Gb/s ports (not on 6Gb/s)
-Bios F6B (it's to have the last official Intel RAID OROM: 10.6.0.1091)

    Regards.

What problems are you having? Have tried to install windows?

First enable raid in the bios for the intel controller.
    set EFI to auto.
    save changes and reboot.
Enter the raid bios pressing CTRL+I keys
Create your raid array. Make sure that array says that it is bootable. (if it is not bootable it will not able to boot from the array)
    Save and exit.
Renter bios set hdd boot order so that your array is first in the list.
    Save changes and exit.
Boot off the windows dvd and select your Array to install onto. Install windows.
Once windows is installed; Install all necessary drivers along with the IRST.

I found my problem and Gigabyte must document it:
      - For your CDROM/DVDROM only use the SATA of Intel Chipset (1-6)
      - Put EFI in BIOS
      - Use last Bios (F6 for GA-P67A-UD7-B3)
      - SATA must be RAID(XHD) or AHCI
I am able to boot RAID10 4TB (4x2TB HDD) with GPT (on big data partition)
