  • New Builder Assistance. What is wrong please check

Well, this is what i have. The problem is, my powers on. But literary 3 seconds after, it turns off. Any ideas why? and it is not the PSU because i just changed it.

    PS: EVERYTHING IS NEW.

Case->COOLER MASTER HAF X RC-942-KKN1 Black Steel/ Plastic ATX Full Tower Computer Case

    MOBO->GIGABYTE GA-P67A-D3-B3 LGA 1155 Intel P67 SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX Intel Motherboard

Fan->COOLER MASTER SickleFlow 120 R4-L2R-20AR-R1 120mm Silent operation Red LED case fan

Cpu cooler->CORSAIR CWCH50-1 High Performance CPU Cooler

Can anyone give me any feedback why might this be happening? Either the MOBO or the CPU might be defective?

    or

    A shortish somewhere?

    Things i have tried.

    1. Taking the MOBO out of the case and powering it with the PSU. Then turning it on with 2 Pins.

    2. Changed to a new power supply.

    3. Connecting the power cables to my MOBO from the case and turning it on. (It powers off after 3 seconds still -_-)

4.Placing Each DDR3 ram sticks one at a time and booting.

    5. Replacing the RAM sticks to new and compatible ones and still failed.

Any other tips? :/ helps or changed MOBO? or PSU is too high? idk man xD this is my first time ever building a pc from top to bottom.

People say that it is the MOBO. Which i think it is because even with new ram sticks it doesn't power on for more than 3 secs

Did i fried my MOBO lol because people tell me that :(

you tried just one stick of ram in the second slot along from cpu socket? made sure you connected the 8pin psu mb plug and the 24pin one? left mb battery out for 30mins? if all that fails carefully inspected cpu socket for any bent pins? take care not to damage any when looking

Yes i have tried with one ram at a time in each slot. Also "left mb battery out for 30mins" what do you mean by this? Yes i do have connected the 24pin psu but the cpu socket i cannot check. i do not want to bend any pins at all :(

I meant have you removed the motherboard battery for 30 minutes to fully clear the cmos, then put back in and try booting up

There's two power connectors that click into the motherboard, ones a 24 pin,and there's another just top/left of the CPU socket,a 4 or 8 pin connector, make sure its plugged in or motherboard will just light up and no boot

Re: New Builder Assistance. What is wrong please check

It seems like the motherboard you are using has power issues. I'll look into getting a replacement from Gigabyte.

Well, i have replaced the MOBO. The issue that i have now is that i do not get to see any BIOS in my screen. Is it possible that i am missing a plug in the GTX 570? like the Display port? cable? because i do not have it connected at all..but i do have the DVI to VGA adapter connected..

Does your monitor recognize that the cable is connected to the video card?
