  • Video artifact issues with GA-Z68A-D3H-B3?

Has anyone seen any weird video "duplicating"/artifacts with the GA-Z68A-D3H-B3?

I recently upgraded to the GA-Z68A-D3H-B3. Updated to latest BIOS. Video card is a Radeon HD 5770...installed the latest AMD drivers. Onboard HD3000 enabled, with latest drivers. Virtu is enabled. I'm not overclocking at all.

Sometimes (often in Outlook), a portion of the screen will be duplicated. For example, if I'm typing an email in Outlook, what I'm typing will be duplicated at the top of the screen. Moving the mouse over that area will make most of the artifacts go away, and minimizing/restoring gets rid of it completely. Sometimes just clicking on a message will cause one quarter of the message to appear in the upper left corner. I've had it happen once in Chrome, too.

I was thinking that maybe this is caused by Virtu having trouble with redirecting the video memory or whatever it does, but even when I disable Virtu with the tray icon, it still happens.

Has anyone had any issues like that? I was thinking about getting a new video card to see if maybe there is a compatibility issue between the onboard HD3000 and my video card.

Not sure why it shows Memory Frequency as "Infinity MHZ" (this is on MIT Status in the BIOS):

Try with the newer 11.12 ATI drivers, the whole ccc package, and manually set your dram voltage to whats printed on your ram, either 1.5v or 1.66v it will say, could try manual .qpi/vtt voltage of 1.08v or 1.10v if artifacts remain

Re: Video artifact issues with GA-Z68A-D3H-B3?

Thanks for the help...I'm kind of hoping it is a memory voltage issue so I don't feel like a complete newb, but in the interests of narrowing down the issue I've first installed the updated AMD drivers. I'll use it for a bit and see if the issue comes back.

yes see if the graphic card drivers cure it first before moving on to voltage tweaking

Well it wasn't the driver...this morning found Outlook still giving video artifacts.

I just fixed the DRAM voltage at 1.5 and I'll see how things go today.

see how it goes first,if still artifacts look and see what auto sets qpi/vtt to in easytune software and in the bios click one or two clicks more and save/exit,still a few other things you could try but best go through them one at a time

I wouldn't bother with memory at all this look like a hardware software issu.
Try to use the iGPU alone removing the video vard first. Also remove Virtu completely.

artifacts usually point to memory, atleast it does with graphic cards? could be hardware or driver related too
