I have a GA-MA785GMT-UD2H; BIOS - F1 03/07/2009; running Windows XP.
Once in a while - quite randomly, but on average every four months or so - my system fails to boot. On investigation I find that the Hard Disk Boot Priority order, in the Advanced BIOS Features list, has changed in that the bootable drive has dropped from first to last in the pecking order. Thus, at the latest occurrence, the order shows as:
My boot disk is the Master drive on Channel 2. I therefore move the Ch 2 M entry back to the top of the list using the + key, hit F10, exit BIOS Setup and the system then boots perfectly again.
I am not conscious of having done anything that might have unsettled the BIOS. Have you any idea what may be causing this?
