Im using this board for a budget gaming rig for a friend, can I USE A 550gtx video card on this board without problems? the reason i ask is because it has an integrated ATI and wasnt sure if they would conflict in some way, im hoping i can completely disable the onboard graphics

yes, it will handle that video card with ease. Pretty much any video card with a PCIe x16. If the BIOS doesn't have a way to disable the internal, it should auto sense that there is a discrete video card and switch for you.
I see no problems at all.
