    Id like to try and synopsize it from my perspective.

    In general on a bang for buck basis, I would say yes it is.
    With the following conditions:

    1. Single gpu only gx cards are being considered.
    2. Your mbrd is capable of sli with 2 cards or xfire with 2 cards.
    3. Your psu can cope with an extra gx card.
    4. the gx card you are considering replacing or dual carding with has been manufactured within the last 2 years.
    5.The minimum spec gx cards were talking about for possible sli or xfire are amd/ati 5850 and nvidia 460gtx 768mb. and dx11 capable

    nb heaven score is with4 anisotropy AND 4xAA applied and nvidia beta drivers.

    Nice post kick. I can agree with you that it's worth it on a bang for buck especially if you can get the older cards @ a decent price as did wazza300 and noJaun999 did. However one more consideration should be entered. Is it a need or a want.
