  • Considering - Asrock X79 Extreme9 Board

    Or the... ASUS P9X79 Deluxe...

    Dear Tweaktown members,
My name is Nikanor, I'm looking for a new motherboard to build a new flightsim PC that needs its focus on central computing and higher per clock frequencies.

One of the few reasons I didn't went for an Extreme7 instread is because of the SSD Caching feature of a bigger HDD.
And as I'm going to spend 40 euro's more I might aswell go for that ASUS.

    Now the bottomline is....

I'm building a hardcore flightsimming PC. The thing is I want to be able to:

    - Power the PC on
    - Enable a good overclock even with voltage settings and whatnot IN windows.
    - Play 1.5Hrs on the high overclock.
    - Cruize the plane for 3 to 16 hours with NO overclock (so I want to change this in windows and my fans should go quieter as well withouth overheating the PC.
    - Enable overclock again to land the Plane for an hour.

And do all this.... with one click of a button.. Meaning I need to be able to switch advanced overclock presets... with one click of a button.

Can I do this? I sure figured out it can be done with ASUS board which have feature rich In WINDOWS UEFI options and presets and auto voltage and overclocking with undervoltages to safe on TEMPS.

But ASRock board look cooler... and the Rampage is to much for my taste.
