  • Uk Heat wave causing 40degrees idle temps with h80 cooler

The last few days have been terible for my PC, i cant get it cool no matter what i try, i have to 120mm fans at front of case, 2 120mm fans on top of case, 2 pwm fans in pull push on h80(doesnt make a difference whether the fans are at full speed or slow). The air is just to hot, i have no air con in my house, my pc ambient temp is 34degrees which would mean my room is 34 degrees lol, i really hate this heat, and its going to get worse, will my pc be ok at 40dgrees idle and upto 70degrees on full load with everyday use?, my normal temps on a normal day are at 30 degrees idle.At first i thought it was the diode i have attached to the h80 to slow the pump and stop it rattling, i disconnected the diode which made temps worse by 2 degrees, so having a slower pump is more efficiant for me, oh, i also have a 200mm fan on the side of my case, there all up full just blowing in hot air lol, will i be ok? will my pc burn out with this heat?.

Do you have yor windows open or closed? would it be best to keep window shut during the day?with curtains closed also or should i just keep window open? Cant stand this heat, its crazy, a normal british summer is usually around 20/22 degrees, the last few days have been 25 and apparantly going to get warmer.

my windows are closed,i think youll be fine,my x58 system coped well and that ran hotter than these sandybridge cpu's,aslong as its not going over 75c at full max load then youll be ok

ive only got two case fans, you can pull of the side panel if your worried, that reduces it by 2-3c

Should be fine, but maybe you can look into a window mounted Air conditioner for your room that your computer is if you are worried about temps.

Hee Hee. With air conditioning my computer room stays about 25C, that feels pretty good where I am, and it's not even summer yet. I haven't been to the UK in many years seems like the humidity was killer when I was there.

It really is the worse kind of humid heat imaginable , countries that are always hot dont have this and the heat though hot is alot more comfortable, plus they have aircon in there normal day to day living, always hated British weather and would love to live in U.S.If I went and installed aircon the weather would change lol.

Regardless of heat wave -- air conditioning is well worth it. I love the fact that my house is 70F (~21C) 24/7/365. Only cost me about $50 a month to keep it up even during the summer. I live in Louisiana where it is always hot and humid.

Yeah, I was gonna say the humidity is always high here as well! I'm halfway between the Atlantic and the Gulf. When I was young I grew up in homes that were built with high ceilings and such, today's homes are built with AC in mind and don't cool well naturally.
I confess I don't do 90's (F) very well anymore in my old age.

Thats a pretty cheap electric bill for down in Louisiana.....especially during the summer months.

You should be OK with those temps. I don't know what programs you run, but you can just lower your speeds to stock for summer, as I do, and you most likely won't even notice the difference, plus it will keep you room cooler since your PC won't be azcting like a heater making your house even hotter than it already is.
