I wonder if any of you clever pc wizards can help me?......I am having trouble with my 'memory'.....now what was I saying?
I currently have an ASRock N68C-S UCC working pc but wanted to up the RAM from 4GB to 8GB. I read through all the specs and tech stuff and purchased 2 x Kingston 4GB sticks to upgrade with. (the part number of the Kingston RAM is off the RAM upgrade compatibly chart off their website, so I am sure I have the correct modules).
When I exchanged the modules over, I removed the power plug from the socket & touched the casing 1st, prior to touching and changing anything over. When I tried to re-boot after putting the new 2 x 4GB modules in, the pc would not boot at all. I have since repeated the procedure and put my original modules back in and all works fine as before. I followed the procedure again and tried one new module into slot 1 1st and tried to re-boot= nothing. repeating procedure again I tried the same module in slot 2=nothing again. I repeated all of this for the 2nd module=nothing at all. I put my original modules back in and am running off them now.
The replacement Kingston modules are the correct spec and part number off the compatibly list and I am not trying to put them into the DDR3 slots either.
Any ideas what I may be doing wrong or anything in addition I should be trying?
I hope someone can point me in the right direction....or tell me to stop being a doofuss and do the 'obvious thing' staring me in the face!
: )
regards and thanks for looking
