  • Ga-EP35-DS3L DPC Issue

Hey guys i have a GA-EP35-DS3L I am currenty running Bios version F6.I have a Antec 550w PSU with a ati4850hd gfx card. I am noticing that when i move my mouse or type on my keyboard that My Dpc Latency goes up from 12 to 80 or 90. It esp goes up when i have my wireless g usb network adapter enabled.

I ran LatencyMon and it said USBPORT.sys uses the most execution timing. I updated all my chipset drivers and all m hardware drivers I shut off all powersaving options in windows 7 and any cpu throttling in the bios. I even disable HPET CIEST ect.

Its just seems to spike when using my mouse or keyboard (both being usb).

    Thanks for any help!

Methinks you need to clear your CMOS, load optimized defaults, reboot, apply any settings/oc then reboot. Otherwise your being to pickyyou gaming freak!
I mean who watches their Dcp Latency..Really

      Re: Ga-EP35-DS3L DPC Issue

Teehee Well I watch the dpc because i use this pc for a DAW so any type of dpc can essentially cause audio drop outs when im working with multiple audio tracks. The lastest version of my bios is F6 because i have Rev 1.x for my mobo.

Its strange really why moving my mouse would cause this lol im trying to keep it from fluctuating

          Re: Ga-EP35-DS3L DPC Issue

Running DPC latency checker v1.20 on my P35-DS3L rev 1.0 (not the EP35) my score averages about 275.
If I close my sound card's software control panel, the average drops to about 85.
There are no spikes with my usb mouse and ps/2 keyboard.
Watching youtube or any web videos has no effect on DPC spikes.

Try closing any unneeded background programs that aren't required when running DAW programs.
Gigabyte's EasyTune program should not be running in the background because it frequently is a primary cause of DPC latency spikes.

Your power supply is old and might be part of the problem.
Borrow a newer high quality power supply to test with.

The attached screen-shot was taken with my system at idle with many open browser tabs.

Profjim How do you have F9 Bios with a rev 1.0 mine shows at gigabytes website its only up to F6 for 1.X??

I also have turned off any unwanted apps. I disable my onboard NIC and audio card. Turned off EIST,HPET ect..
When im working on music i dont even have my Catalyst control center running or MOM.exe i turn it all off.

USBPORT.sys always seems to be the one making the spikes happen.

I see there is a beta bios of F7a is this somethins i should look into? also
when i turn off hpet in my bios dpc checker my latency is reporting 1012s in latency monitor but in dpc checker its like 100...
dunno why they show differnt values but when i turn hpet back on latency mon shows just over 100s until spikes occur

                  Re: Ga-EP35-DS3L DPC Issue

are you running easytune? sometimes closing that helps reduce latency, disable c1e or c1 on older boards in the bios also eist can still be left enabled, has it always done this or since you added in the usb wireless dongle?

                  post a screenshot of dpc

try unplugging the front panel usb ports from your motherboard,i found those to be a big latency culprit, just to test and see if it reduces things

                        Re: Ga-EP35-DS3L DPC Issue

Its crazy to think my psu is a culprit but i guess when it comes to hardware stuff gets complicated. I did have an antec 500w that i just replaced with this 550w a week ago but no differnece although i dont know if i just need to try a differnt manufacturer.

I had a nvidia geforce 9800gt that i just swaped for this 4850hd and the 4850 got it to be this low as it is shown.

and whats up with all those dam hard page faults ?

i dont have my usb front panel hooked up..actually never have cuz i was to lazy to put it on lol

maybe its just the p35 chipset..from what i have heard its been a dpc issue for a while

Anonbeatz, did you ever hear back from Gigabyte?

It appears I am having this exact same issue with the same motherboard. It causes almost constant audio stuttering from Youtube, Soundcloud etc.. if I am moving the mouse while playing video/audio in a browser.
