Power surge, black screen.

Hi,

Yesterday I had a power surge in my house and my secondary computer ate it. The video signal cut-out and it kept running. I can re-start the computer, however I see no post just a black screen and I have no mobo speaker to listen for beeps.

I took the graphics card out (GTX 560ti) and put it in my main rig and the video is being displayed properly. Should I try new PSU or Mobo?

The problem can be with any (or all) of your hardware components.
With all hardware removed from the motherboard, carefully inspect everything for signs of burning or physical damage.
There might be damage on the underside of the motherboard.
You should remove the motherboard from the case and place it on a cardboard box next to your computer case.
Do NOT put an anti-static bag or any electrically conductive material under the motherboard.
Do you have access to any spare hardware that you can test with, such as psu, memory,cpu, etc.?
Getting a case speaker could help diagnose where the problem is. Try a local electronics store.

id try clearing the cmos,power down pc remove motherboard battery,hold in front panel power switch to discharge all internal components,leave out battery for 30mins(may need overnight) then put back in and power up pc,remember clearing cmos will reset bios to default settings so pop back in bios and set it up if you get that far
