  • Scanning BIOS Image in hard drive, Bios auto recovering.....

    Hello..
the other day i wanted to turn on my working computer and this is what I got on the black screen:
Scanning BIOS Image in hard drive
Bios auto recovering................(infinite dots while autorecovering) I left it to auto-recover but it couldn't
I reseted it few times but didn't help. reseted the battery, set a jumper to CLR_CMOS but didn't help...

How can I flash BIOS if I can't even get to POST ??

    Thank you in advance

Using another system, put the extracted bios file for your motherboard in the root directory of a FAT32 formatted partition on your hard drive or a floppy drive. Install the drive in your system and see if the scanning can find the bios.

I tried to put another drive in that system, it loads but then it just BSOD's and restart and goes over and over again
I haven't tried to connect the older drive in the new system but I tried that with some other system and the above happened with old disk in new system

                hi

it's my first post on the forum .... hope i could find some help

                i have the same error

i have another pc that i didn't use for some time, when i start the system ... before the dmi pool data screen appears ... it turns to black and don't reach to boot to the system
restart the pc several times with no use ... then i removed the mobo battery and started the system again .the mobo logo appears then a black screen showing the error (scanning the hard drive for bios image) then the system restart ...and the loop goes on !

i'v formated the hard drive to a single partition fat32 and extracted the bios version on it ...but the mobo still can't find the bios image

                the system specs are

                intel quad core q6600
                gigabyte ep35-ds3r
                king stone 8 gb 2x4 ddr2 800mhz

Re: Scanning BIOS Image in hard drive, Bios auto recovering.....

                  Welcome to the forum.

What is the name of the bios file that you copied to the fat32 partition?
You need to use the extracted bios file that will have a name similar to EP35xxxx.Fn where n is a number.
Do not copy the downloaded EXE file to the fat32 partition.
If you have a floppy drive, copy the Fn bios file to the floppy, insert the floppy into the drive and try again.

Is the motherboard battery still removed from your system?
