On the CPU support list the older Xeon's are listed but not the newer 22nm Ivybridge Xeon's. Hoping somebody here will give me a definite answer, don't want to order the CPU if it won't work :p.

i can only give you a 90% answer that it should work,to be 100% sure id email gigabyte and ask them directly,usually takes them 2 to 3 days for a reply,you can contact them on the gigabyte uk website

Didn't get any response from Gigabyte and thought what the hell i'll just order it and try it :p. Anyway arrived today and it works fine :). Performs around i7 3820 / i7 2600K level but runs really cool / quiet, using stock cooler and it's fine even during Intel burn test. Awesome chip.

Max Turbo on that chip is 3.7Ghz.. any reason you're at 3.5?
