    Hello.
    I,m building a new gaming pc and i,m going for the Asrock extreme 11.
    I did order 2x GTX680 cards with pci 3.0.

    Wanted to go for the new 3970x cpu but now i learn that that cpu wont support 3.0.
    The Intel Xeon E5-2670 - 2.6 GHz claims to support 3.0 but cost alot more.
    Question is will use of 3.0 show? And do you guys know if the xeon will hold its own against the 3970x in gaming?

    Xeon cpu's are new to me and i,m lost in my search for the cpu to use, the cpu is on the list of the mobo.
    But will it be usefull in gaming with the 2 cards in sli using 3.0 vs 3970 sli in 2.0?'
    Do you know a better cpu to use? Remember i,m selling a kidney for this

    Hope you can shine a light on this for me.
    Thank you.
    Greetings Guus

    Zomaardan;

    I am not a ZEON user.....but here is what I decided on for my latest upgrade and I am very happy with it !!!! I've had it up and running for about a week....

    The CPU has been overclocked to 4.5 GHz with no stability problems.....I do alot of video encoding but this same rig would also be a great gaming rig....

    I hope this will help you,Zomaardan !!!

    Have a great Holiday season !!!

      Doesn't Nvidia have a fix for this for SBe CPUs? A program that "forces" PCIe 3.0 to work?
