  • PC does not boot. Error code C1

    Mobo X58A-UD5 BIOS ff1

24 gigas Corsair memory (6 sticks). No problem for years. Default settings (1333).

I have removed all the sticks, and then inserted one stick in slot 1. Nothing. Clear CMOS. Then in slot 3 (according to the manual). Nothing.

I can hear continuous beeps, then nothing, continuous beeps, nothing, etc.

    Fans are running.

Re: PC does not boot. Error code C1

C1 = Detect memory, Auto-detection of DRAM size, type and ECC, Auto-detection of L2 cache

Turn off your system, unplug the psu cord from the wall outlet or the back of the psu.
Remove the mobo battery and jumper the Clear_CMOS pins for one hour or longer.
Remove all memory modules then clean and inspect all memory slots with compressed air.
Carefully clean each of the memory module's electrical contacts with a clean rubber eraser.
When you are ready to reboot, see if you can boot with only one module installed and see if you can boot into the bios to load Optimized Bios Defaults.

Any recent changes to your system?
Can you borrow and test with another power supply?

Re: PC does not boot. Error code C1

I had changed a memory stick two weeks ago (same specs). However, according to CPUZ it was a little bit different: the old ones were 9-9-9-24 and this new one was 9-9-9-25.
I have removed this stick, and now my PC is working again.

Thank you for your help. Regards.
