wHere can I get xp oem in the u.s. ?

building a athlon based system could any one tell me if I could get xp oem with my proccessor purchase and if so where ? if not what exactly would I have to buy ?:hammer:

If you don't mind the activation process, then you can head over to numerous hardware online sites. They will sell you an OEM version of the OS as long as you make a hardware purchase. Normally the hardware can be as small as a HDD cable or something like that.

Another option (and the one I chose) is to make contact with a computer manufacturer locally. Many of them will have access to Microsoft and can get you an open license agreement that will give you the full package and also not have to activate it.

Either one will fill your needs, but the OEM route descibed first is the cheaper of the methods.
