  • H55M-USB3 different capacity RAM modules question

    Hi,
I am new to this forum and it is very nice to be here!
Now with regards to my question, I am not too tech savvy, so please try to be patient.

I have right now 4 x 2Gb Ram modules installed for a total of 8Gb and the RAM brand is A-Data DDR3- 1333Mhz, so I was wondering IF it is possible to replace TWO of the modules with another two of different size (given the other specs are the same): 2 X 4 Gb for a total amount of 12 Gb? If possible, I am not sure where on the slots to place each module in order to keep the dual channel configuration. Please see attached jpg

    Thanks a lot in advance

See Desktop Boards — Single- and multi-channel memory modes (updated on 07-Jun-2013) for more information.
Your best memory performance will use dual channel mode.

Mixing memory kits can lead to boot problems or stability issues, even when both memory kits appear to be identical or have similar or identical specifications. See http://forums.tweaktown.com/asus/534...tml#post461276, post #2 that quotes information from G.Skill's memory FAQ.
