    RAM Slot lock stuck unable to open

    Hello,

    I have the following issue with my AsRock Z68 Fatality Prof. Gen3.

    I tried to open the RAM lock but on one side I fail to get it open. It is different from the ones in the right side.
    I broken also 8 out of 10 nails and injured my nailbed in the attempt.

    How I will get my RAM out of this crappy mainboard? The notches on 2 are already losing the small finger place room.
    The ones close to the black cable are the problem...as u may see the other side is using proper stable notches.
    Please give me a advise to get out my special G.Skill Ram Edition that was 3 times more expensive than this board.

    you only need to depress the top notches,then the ram should lift out,its the same on asus boards

    the white notch/clip at the bottom just holds the ram it doesn't clip it into place like the top clip does

      Hey there!

      Did you try to get both sides open at once? Or one at a time? I've assembled many, many systems and upgraded way too many.. and this never happened.

        The DIMM slot clip that opens is only on one side of the slot. It is a new, different design which has been used for a while now, since it is found on a Z68 board.

        The other side does NOT open at all, it is not meant to open. If you checked your board's manual, you would find instruction on how to use it.

        Many new boards have this style of DIMM locking, it is just different. Hopefully you did not damage the end that does not open.
