• FM2A88X-ITX+ & Kaveri, no video

Hi!

I have just made a new build - however it fails to either boot or post.

The build consists of:
AMD A10-7700K Boxed
ASRock FM2A88X-ITX+
2x4GB Corsair Vengeance 1866MHz CL9
Corsair RM450
Fractal Design Node

What I've tried so far:
Testing the build with another CPU - AMD A10-6800K
Testing the build with another RAM - Kingston Blu 1600MHz CL9
Testing with a different PSU - Corsair TX750 v2
I've reset CMOS a dozen of times, I have pulled out the battery
I have tested all three video outputs: VGA DVI and HDMI.

I can't tell what the bios version is - as I never get a video on the screen.

The BIOS revision that it came flashed from the factory with is printed on a white sticker in the lower right corner.

To test if it's the memory causing this, do you have a different set of memory to swap in temporarily to replace that current Vengence?

"however it fails to either boot or post" Which one? Are the fans and HDDs spinning up?
#1 - Please, when seeking help, enter the make and model of ALL parts that your system is comprised of in your Signature, or at least the model #'s in your System Specs, then "Save' it.
____If you are overclocking, underclocking, or undervolting any parts, informing us of this and their values would prove beneficial in helping you.

#2 - Consider your PSU to be the foundation from which all else is built upon. Anything built upon a weak foundation is poorly built.

Like I wrote in the main post - I have tested it out with a 2x4GB kit of Kingston Blu memory 1600MHz CL9 but with no result :-/
And the fans does spin - so does the harddrive.

And like I said - I did test out with a different processor that "should" be supported by all it's different versions of BIOS.Click image for larger version

Cant see the afformentioned sticker, maybe I'm looking the wrong place :-/ Only white label I find is located right under/at the PCI-E port.

Welcome to the forum.

Do you have a case speaker connected to motherboard? If yes, are there any beeps?
Did you connect the 4-pin ATX_12V power supply cable to the motherboard?
Have you tried booting with your motherboard on a cardboard box beside the computer case?

I've seen a couple of cases where different motherboards would not boot when there was a problem with the usb 3.0 cable improperly connected to the motherboard. Try booting with this cable disconnected.

The attached picture shows the bios label's version number located next to the sata connectors.

Re: FM2A88X-ITX+ & Kaveri, no video

Already tried assembling the most basic version of the build out of the case only consisting of:
PSU, RAM, Motherboard and CPU - no luck :-/

And yes - had a speaker connected - but no beeps at all
And yea I did connect the 12V line ;)

EDIT: Oh and that sticker is clearly not on my motherboard then :-/

I've seen several other motherboard pictures where there wasn't a bios label on the bios chip.

Your photo shows that the ATX_12V cable is not connected to the motherboard.
The motherboard can't boot or post when this cable is not connected.

Yea I know - that picture was just to display the motherboard.
No cables are connected to the motherboard at the moment :)

Re: FM2A88X-ITX+ & Kaveri, no video

Don't know if it's worth noting that:

The CPU and RAM I used to test the motherboard with are both taken out of a FM2 A85X build that does work - so I know they are both working. And with those I had the same results - ie. fans and disks spins - but no video

Just tried with a Nvidia GTX660 TI - still no luck.

I have tested all three video outputs: VGA DVI and HDMI.
Can you test with a different monitor and cables?

Already done that - using that specific monitor already though for my other pc - so I know it works.
