Z97 Extreme4 + Windows 8.1 SM Bus Controller Driver

Hey,

I've reinstalled every driver that came on the CD, then went to the website and downloaded every driver and attempted to reinstall again from that but still the problem exists.

In device manager, i have under "other Devices" an item called SM Bus Controller, which from my understanding is the chipset driver for the motherboard. All was well before I put win 8.1 on.

Anyone found a solution to this issue?

If you have the Intel IME software installed, and rebooted the PC afterwards, and you still get that entry in Device Manager, then a Windows Update for Windows 8.1 will fix that entry. I can't recall which MS Update specifically.

I've seen that Device Manager entry on Windows 8.1 installations, which disappears after some of the 8.1 updates are installed.
