ASRock AM1H-ITX with Windows 8.1 no HDMI audio

Hello,

I just installed a complete new system with ASRock AM1H-ITX connected through HDMI to my AV-Receiver (Denon x1100W) and installed Windows 8.1 from Scratch and downloaded and installed all drivers from the ASRock website for this board.

Anyway I can see that HD Audio for HDMI should be enabled and I can hear some crackling sound when testing through the Windows Audio panel but no real Audio comes from the connection!?

Does anyone have some idea where to start troubleshooting?

It seems that at least some kind of output comes from the HDMI connection to my AVR but it's just some strange crackling noise!?

In windows control panel, audio section, check that the desired device is selected for playback. Maybe your onboard hd sound card is the preferred device, not the HDMI output.
