Dual CPU System Help

I'm planning on upgrading my current Video editing machine to a dual AMD system. Any suggestions for getting different gear (and why) would be appreciated. My planned specs for my system when it's complete are as follows:

Windows 2000 Professional (already have)
2 X AMD 2100 XP CPU's (with L5 mod) (already have one)
Gigabyte 7DPXDW-P Motherboard (don't have)
Leadtek Geforce 2 Pro 64MB (already have)
512 MB PC2700 DDR RAM (don't have)
1 X 30GB 7200RPM ATA-100 IBM HDD (System Drive) (already have)
2 X 80GB 7200RPM ATA-100 Seagate HDD in RAID 0 (Scratch Disk) (don't have)
Sound Blaster Live! Platinum (already have)
Canopus EZDV Video Editing card (already have)
Canopus ADVC-50 analog/digital convertor (already have)
Pioneer A05 DVD-R/RW CD-R/RW Writer (already have)
Top Power 400W Power Supply (don't have)
19" CM715 Hitachi monitor (already have)



So I still have to get:

AMD 2100 XP ($200)
Gigabyte 7DPXDW-P ($580)
512 MB PC2700 DDR RAM ($310)
2 X 80GB 7200RPM ATA-100 Seagate HDD ($225 X 2 = $450)
Top Power 400W Power Supply ($80)

TOTAL = $1620

Don't you need a MP not XP processor??

AMD don't support XP's in SMP configurations, but you are able to modify them so they work in SMP as the MP's do. All you have to do is make a connection in the L5 Bridge that is lasercut when they come out of the factory. By joining this bridge you enable your XP processor to work in an SMP system as the MP's processors do.

As I already have one 2100XP processor, this will turn out a great deal cheaper for me.

1 X 2100XP Processor = $210

2 X 2200MP Processors = $930

The rest of the components look fine to me.
Oh I think you will need to make sure you have good ventilation in the case that you are going to use. Two CPUs will make that case like an oven I reckon!

from what i've seen of the new P4's with Hyper Threading, I'd almost wait until they come out, then just sell ya AMD system to someone. Normally I'm not much of an Intel fan, but HT looks mighty fine, especially for things like video production.

But for CAD stations or anything relyin' heavily on raw FP operations the Athlon system would be prefect as a lot of companies have been finding out of late (amazing how many heavy metal industries have converted to dual AMD workstations). :)
