  • Supermicro 7048GR-TR or Corsair Obsidian 900D?

    Hello to all,

I would buy a workstation for 3D Studio Max and I am torn between the two:

    1st Solution:
    Corsair AX1500i Digital ATX
    Corsair Obsidian 900D

    2nd Solution
    Supermicro 7048GR-TR

    1) I have seen that you have reviewed this second solution and I congratulate you but I have not found information on the noise. I would want to know if it is more noisy the first solution (900D + AX1500i) or the second solution (7048GR-TR). Is it very important for me!

Supermicro 7048GR-TR (Intel C612) Workstation Tower System Review

    2) If I take Supermicro 7048GR-TR I can assemble all these components without problems:

    2 x Intel Xeon E5-2697 V3 (14 core, 2.60GHz)
    2 x Noctua NH-U12DX i4
    PNY Nvidia Quadro M6000 12GB
    NVIDIA Tesla K40 12GB
    Kingston 512GB ECC (32GB x 16) (KVR21L15Q4/32)
    Intel SSD 750 Series 1,2TB SATA3
    3 x Samsung SSD 845DC EVO 960 GB
    Asus BW-16D1HT
Windows 10 Professional 64 bit Retail
    Creative Sound Blaster ZxR
    SilverStone FP37
    SilverStone FP55
    Asus USB 3.1 TYPE-A CARD
    GIGABYTE GC-USB 3.1 BAY

    3) The sound card is made of 2 pieces! Is it a problem?

    4) Could I add 2 Intel Xeon Phi Coprocessor to my configuration or I would have space problems?

    5) What is the model I should choose between these?

    6) I am sorry for my English but it is too hard for me! :(

    See you
    Paolo
