  • Help! X79 Extreme11 "Registered ECC"

I have been searching for a month now and its difficult to find a "Registered ECC" motherboard that is not a server board, however I found this article:
    Asrock X79 Extreme11 - X79 Extreme11 Design- MoBo: ASRock X79 Extreme11
    - CPU: Intel Xeon E5-2687Wv2
    - RAM:
    1. Half optimal (128GB): 2x Mushkin Proline Kit 994063 - 4x16GB 1600MHz DDR3 RDIMM ECC Modules
    2. Full optimal (256GB): 8x Mushkin Proline 992082 - 32GB 1333MHz DDR3 RDIMM ECC Module

Please give me the facts, is the registered ecc on ASRock X79 Extreme11.

    Thanks

Re: Help! X79 Extreme11 "Registered ECC"

So I understand. You have Registered ECC memory and you are now looking for a motherboard and processor ??
#1 - Please, when seeking help, enter the make and model of ALL parts that your system is comprised of in your Signature, or at least the model #'s in your System Specs, then "Save' it.
____If you are overclocking, underclocking, or undervolting any parts, informing us of this and their values would prove beneficial in helping you.

#2 - Consider your PSU to be the foundation from which all else is built upon. Anything built upon a weak foundation is poorly built.

That means that the X79 does not support it, there are "" NO "" X79 motherboards that support it, so your only choice is the X99 series chipset.

Maybe next time you could buy a motherboard then the memory.

P.S. If you want a gaming system then there is no reason to run buffered memory as it's useless and " slower " then non ecc unbuffered and should only be used for a server, not a personal PC for gaming.
