I was looking all over for VT-d support for this old motherboard. Gigabyte tech support gave me this:

Please note that there were some old reports that it broke RAID. Press CTRL + F1 in the main menu, then Advanced Chipset Features> VT-d should appear.
The newest BIOS, FK (02/29/2012), did not have a VT-d option. This will probably work for rev 1.7 boards too, since the dates and versions of 1.6/1.7 match.
EDIT: intel_iommu=on seems to break ICH10 Intel audio on the x58 platform using linux. A simple USB sound dongle addon works fine.
