CPU compatibility Gigabyte G1 Assassin 2 Mainboard X79 Chipset and Xeon E5 1680 v2

Hello togehter,

I have a little trouble to get an intel Xeon E5 1680 v2 work properly on a Gigabyte G1 Assassin 2 mainboard. Gigabyte Homepage tells there ist support for
Xeon processors till CPU 1660 v2 Ivy Bridge EP, but my CPU 1680 v2 is not working on my motherboard and will not start up. Mainboard starts up, Fans are working but I got no post screen.
Do you have any advices for me why this does not work?
Actaully I have an Intel Xeon CPU E5 1660 working fine, I have tried a modded BIOS F13 for my motherboard, but this BIOS does not work properly so I flashed back to g1assassin2_mod5_12y.
I will test the Xeon 1680 v2 CPU with this BIOS build.
Maybe there are some advices what I can do to get the Xeon CPU 1680 v2 to work.

If your processor isn't listed on the website and you have tried flashing bios too so I think its not gonna work. You can find cheap X79 boards from aliexpress

Hello i bought a motherboard x79 Asus P9X79 WS now cpu xeon e5 1680 v2 is working on with a slight overclock i am now on 4.5 GHz.
THX for Reply it was as meentioned, BIOS mod on gigabyte MAinboard did not help so now it is all fine.
