  • --- overclocking RAM ---

I have PC2700 RAM which is supposed to be able to run at 333MHz and it says it's running at 180MHz when i start up. In my bios i have it set to 125% the cpu external frequency. since it's PC2700 does this mean i can set it to 200% the fsb to make it 288MHz? and if so, will this do any good for my performance?

Your RAM is already overclocked. You have to remember to double the FSB value to get your memory speed since it is DDR. In your case, the memory is running at 360MHz right now. ;)

aaaaahhhhhhhhh i didn't know that it doubles for the RAM too... ok then. Should i not overclock the RAM past 333 or do you think that it's ok like it is?

Agreed. If everything runs fine with no instabilities, then let it rock on. I also believe I saw you use an Active Memory Cooler for your memory? If so, then you have little to worry about. As a matter of fact, you may even be able to boost the voltage a touch on the memory and go even higher! :D
