  • Need help networking my XP laptop to a IMAC

I am running XP HOME on my laptop and the imac has OS 10.2... Can someone please tell me how to network these machines. I have set up the file sharing on the pc and designated the folders that I want to share. Thanks in advance.

The easiest way I can suggest is by setting up an FTP server on one of the machines (probably the WinXP machine would be easier). I personally don't know of any networking clients that are compatible with both machines. I thought I recalled XP supporting AppleTalk, but I couldn't find it.

Maybe someone else has a bright idea that actually knows what they are talking about.

easiest thing to do is turn on the built-in ftp server on the Imac then create an account for the winXP machine to use..

or you can invest in something like PC MAC LAN a commercial product which allows the two dissimilar OSes to share files on the same network via network neighborhood [on the PC] or finder [on the MAC].
