quick power question

Got my new motherboard in today and want to test out my powersupply and case power lights. Was wondering if it will hurt anything by hooking up the power to the motherboard and fans and turn everything on without a cpu or any periphials connected to the board? Wont be able to get a cpu till next paycheck so i just want to check things out to see if they work or if i have to send them back. If it matters i got the GA-8PE667 ultra2 motherboard.
