Windows CE?

Can I get CE to work with a real pc?
If so where would I get it?
I am thinking of this as an alternative to getting Win98 for a custom setup. All i need is to run winamp(or any simple MP3 player) and GPS software.

I doubt that CE will work as a stand alone os on a regular pc as I don't think it will support ide or pci for example. Linux might be an alternative. Perhaps even DOS for which there are MP3 players, but not sure about GPS.

I am trying to find a good alternative to Linux. Since I havent mastered it yet.
I guess I will go the 98lite way.
