I may be mistaken, but Hotmail and Yahoo are web-based email, and have no SMTP function.
I believe Hotmail did and may still offer that add-on functionality, but it is a pay for service.
Yahoo may offer the same, I'm not sure:?:

      Mr. C is right.

In Yahoo you have to pay for that service, you can check it here:

      http://ordering.yahoo.com/or/ypm/spl...op&.osig=zQwKT

But where are live I don't have to pay for that service, I just configure my account to receive "offerts", "ads" and things like that [spam] (by the way I never had recieved any of them:confused: ).

Also here is the help page
      http://help.yahoo.com/help/us/mail/pop/pop-02.html

About Hotmail, i'm not sure, but I will check

If I remember correctly, there is a pop3/smtp address for Hotmail as well. It can be used in Outlook to check your Hotmail. I can't remember the address though.

Just a side note, Lionheart, can you fix up that pic of Tidus in your sig? You're ruining everything like that. :) Nice avatar though. ;)

Again, I may be mistaken -
but I do believe that the Hotmail function in Outlook is pretty much self-configured by the proggy. Part of that M$ app tie-in going on there.

If I recall correctly, Incredimail is more of a freaking graphics program than anything truly dealing with email functions. Makes doggone pretty/bloated emails though:laugh:

Yes where possible I certainly stick with what M$ provides as there are less hassles.

oh man where do you live? yahoo pop mail service is surrently one of the best and you are getting it for FREE??? you lucky bugger you!!
POP mail is one of the services that you might be able to find with great difficulty. it has become one of the most important service for e-mail providers to earn some money and thus almost every pop service has gone paid!
http://www.hotpop.com/index.jsp is one of very few sites that are still giving it for free but obviously you will get advertisements and other kind of spam.

hotmail is an http based service and not pop based.

about incredimail, well it is nice to use for one or two times for trial but i m quite sure that soon you will stop using it! you will get lots of kicks from your frnds to whom you will be sending mails of size above 20K (mails with background in incredimail reach that size).
most probably you've free version, so do not forget to run ad-aware or spybot search and destroy cos it is advertisement supported and really sucks on that part!

Yeah, not only for getting it for free but I don't recieve the spam they suppost to send me.

                    And I live in Mexico.:thumb:

I just use Incremail to backup my mail, not to send. But the reason I D/L it was for the graphics and all the stuff. Later I decide to use it only to keep the incoming mails.

And like a free version, it tries to connect to download Ads, but I have block it, and the only it could go is to my yahoo Account, jejeje.

                        Me too, jeje

I have to continue using it cuaze all my mails are in incredimail. I don't know how to export them to Outlook Exp.. So I just keep using for "backup".

In the past I used to save the web page, jajaja. But it was annoying.

email clients for windows that i like:

                              Pegasus Mail : http://www.pmail.com/

                              AK-Mail : http://www.akmail.com/

                              Eudora : http://www.eudora.com/

                              Mozilla : http://www.mozilla.org/

Mozilla is a great web browser and the built in email client is pretty cool too, Eudora is an old stand by from the Win 3.x days its still a nice client and doesn't have anywhere near the num,ber of security holes that Outlook does. Same can be said for Pegasus Mail.. And lastly AK-mail is a client a friend of mine in South Africa has been using for about 6 months [he loves it]. I use Pegasus BTW..:thumb:
