  • Audigy 1/2 Platinum or Non-Plat.

im split between buying a audigy 1/2 platinum or non-platinum.
as is blatantly the non-platinum versions are a lot cheaper.
the thing i want to know is do the creative inspire 5200/5500 (or whatever the numbers) need the inputs from the platinum.
also what other connectors come with the plat., i know there are the SP/DIF and whatnot but what is actually on there.
whenever i get a pic, its always really far away and i can see ****.

I'm using a regular Audigy (mp3 flavor) with Creative 6600 system and am very happy with it. The original Audigy (as opposed to Audigy2) only has 5.1 sound capibility but there are few speaker systems out there with more than 5 satillite speakers anyway. (Mine has 6 but there is an option on the sub to use the rear center as a "mixed channel" so it does work).

For your info the inputs on my sound card are as follows:
    1. Digital out (or sub and center analog)
    2. Line in (analog)
    3. Mic in (analog)
    4. Front out (analog)
    5. Rear out (analog)
    6. SB1394 (firewire)

Hope this answers some of you questions.
